boarding moonflower babe
it's all about boarding baby!
About Me
- Name: moonflower
- Location: United Kingdom
I'm not tall but I'm definitely not short. If I was a flower, I'd probably aspire to be an orchid or a graceful calla lily but would probably just be a sunflower. I have tried to be cool and angsty but I keep forgetting and get the fit of the giggle! I've decided to give up the fight and just roll with the giggles and not even go down the road of chic...

One of the crazy folks I went sailing with! It was AWESOME! Here's one of the views I had the good fortune to see when I went around the Caribbean:
How beautiful is this view?!! And I had this every single day! And this is the view of St Kitts as we pulled into the harbor!
It was absolutely wonderful... I was on the sea for one week and it helped so much with gaining perspective on life and the rest of the world! It's helped with giving me focus... I think. I have a few things that I need to think about I think...
I do know that I am currently quite tired. Work is intense. Life is ... alternative. I am actually getting advice from my customers on my life : SERIOUSLY!
So he's advising me on the fact that I'm 31. So I need to "hurry up" and find someone so that I can have kids because I'm "getting on a bit"!!!! COME ON! Oh Ok then!
It's crazy - just because I'm in my 30s and currently single DOES NOT MEAN THAT I'M ON THE SHELF for the rest of my life! Or that I'm now resigned to a life as a spinster forever. *Giggle* to be honest though, it does make me laugh! People are so interesting.
And it teaches you about you too. About what is important to you. What you really want from life. From people. What you expect for yourself... and that you're not willing to compromise. Why? Because life is (and I hate that I'm quoting my customer on this!!) too darn short.
Who knows what life will bring? Maybe I will be on my own for the rest of my life and be the COOLEST aunt ever or maybe Matthew McConahey will actually come to his senses and FINALLY accept that we are destined to be together hehehehe :)
Ah well... onward and upward to the next blog which shall be in about a month and shall be about Seattle and the shennanigans and the er... dance off that I have with one of the guys ... who is an awesome dancer. Sigh. There's going to be such carnage...!

I have an audience :) + holiday rant
So I just found out that my baby brother's girlfriend reads my blog! Hey Aruna :)
And I found out that my PERU holiday has been canceled yeterday. There was much gnashing of teeth, heavy sobbing and stamping of feet. Well ok, I didn't actually gnash my teeth or sob (tuh. I'm not of the sobbing ilk) but I did actually stamp my foot a couple of times much to the amusement of my housemate ... yeah I know... Yes I AM actually 31 years old *blush*
And then I check with a close friend of mine - who's going to the same place albeit a little later - and HIS TRIP IS STILL ON! Fate is MEAN! So now I have to figure out when I want to reschedule and which alternate trip I choose. Like I don't have enough work to do already!
Ok gripe over :) I now have to get back to work to prep for a HUGE meeting tomorrow and then figure out how I can take my swim & gym kit to my customer site tomorrow with anyone noticing.. What's with the increased fitness focus? I need to be able to swim a little more than 4 lengths at a time if I'm going sailing :S and I'm still working with the same plan that I will be able to go to Peru at some point this year. And also, I would actually just really like to get fitter.
I built up some great fitness with snowboarding and now it's all going to pot and I'm running to rack and ruin and I look like the female version of the Michelin man. Well ok I'm not actually obese with rolls of flab but still!
I'm not really grumpy fyi. I don't tend to stay grumpy for too long :) Life's too short. Maybe I talked about Peru too much. And maybe I looked forward to it too much. So I shall book it and stay very reserved about it and not jinx it.
Happy week folks!

Adventures galore... 2007 is THE year folks
So as you know, I went snow-boarding earlier this year. That rocked. Big stylee. I mean REALLY rocked! In April of this year, I am going to the Caribbean. Sailing. Well posturing and attempting to swim mostly. But I think I've probably already mentioned this previously so it's all good.
However... the REALLY BIG COOL TRIP for me this year is for 19 days. I'll be hiking. Trekking. White water rafting. Horse-riding. Biking. Where? PERU BABY! I'll be going up the Macchu Picchu mountains along the salt pans and boating along the Amazon river. I will also be going through the Amazonian forest. The AMAZON FOREST! This will be happening in August and I am, in turn, really excited and really freaked out. I decided that it was about time that I went somewhere I have wanted to go to for years.
So I've done it. I've paid for it. I've started prep for it. I am nervous. Excited. Exhilarated. Exhausted. Feeling trepidation. trying to contain my excitement. Gosh! It's more nerve-wracking than when I got married (and subsequently divorvced hahaha!).
My mother is cross. She's excited for me but she's cross that I am going alone. I'm not going alone, I am going with a tour (of about 12 or so people!) but in her eyes, I am going alone. She wants me to find a guy, start a relationship and then talk him into going with me.
I love my mother :) She's so funny and very cute! When I laughed uproariously, she just sighed and said that she'd thought she would give it a go at being authoritarian.
So I need to get fitter. I am actually fairly ok at the moment but I need to hit the gym and the streets and the hills HARD so that I don't get altitude sickness because folks, that would be a bit of a bummer.
:)
Have a glorious weekend.

URGH bring on Springshine I tell you!
Today is a dull and miserable day outside for the weather. And shortly I will be off to listen to the haunting melodies of Ludovico Einaudi with a couple of friends who ARE a couple and I shall play gooseberry. Oh the joys of being single! Now ordinarily I would've taken any of my friends with me but it's today - today being the day that the WHOLE OF THE WORLD will be watching the 6 Nations rugby. Apart from me. And my two mates. And some randoms who don't like rugby (insane!)... I WANT TO WATCH THE RUGBY! But I'm sure I shall enjoy the depressingly haunting tinkling of the ivories whilst trying not to bemoan the lonely chasm that is my life.
hahahahaha! AS IF! Whilst it would've been nice to not be the 3rd wheel, I am actually quite looking forward to going to see the concert. And quite frankly if it meant going on my own, I would go on my own!
But I do wish that it didn't clash with the rugby :(
Come on! Fit men in tight shorts. What's not to like?!
Saturdays rock. Despite the weather. Have a great weekend people!

tsk. such poor sporadic blogging but anyway...!
er Happy New Year!! Yeah, yeah I know. I'm rubbish with the true spirit of blogging but I have been so insanely busy with living life that I haven't had the chance to write about it! So what's my latest news? Well as of Saturday, February 10th, 2007, I can call myself a bona fide SNOWBOARDER baby!! YEAH!

Yeah baby I can ACTUALLY snowboard down a mountain! I spent the last week throwing myself down a mountain.. well ok, so I started off throwing myself down a hill and then I graduated to throwing myself down a mountain. It was pretty super cool. There were a number of firsts here.
I blacked out for about 5 - 6 secs for the first time in my life! That was interesting :)
I then nearly broke my lil ole ass - well not so little thank the Lord - never will I complain about the size of the junk in my trunk for I truly believe that it provided much needed cushioning during all those falls!
So... ladies, let me tell you about the beautiful boarding instructor. Hubba Hubba! What a beautiful man! Fit as a fiddle and goooooooooooooorgeous! I HAD to hold on to his shoulders (yum) and then he had to hold on to my legs to help me turn... and yes, honestly, I was actually rubbish so he HAD to ... *angelic face*
I was also mistaken for between 19 and 25 by friends of friends of mine. Can you BELIEVE THAT?! I'M 31 YEARS OLD!
Yeah so I had an awesome holiday. I am now going to subsist on bread and water so that I can save up for my next holiday in April - sailing around the Carribean. Now before you think that I'm made of gold doubloons (I love that word!) let me just say that because I have brilliant friends with an eye for a bargain, all these crazy trips are actually pretty damn affordable! Yep - cheap as chips baby.
I have to say that I am almost nearly addicted to snowboarding. Nearly and not completely because I have a non-addictive personality. But that aside, I think that I will actually go ahead and buy my own clothes now instead of borrowing everybody else's!
Holidays are such hard work! I have got to learn to tread now as well, so that I don't sink like an anvil when I am swmimming in the sea!
Man am I enjoying my life! :)
Happy February everyone!
