Amo mi l'italia!

So when I was a kid, my best friend was this amazing Italian girl. We were really good friends but, as it sometimes happens, we drifted apart, lost touch and she went back to Italy. But for about 6 years, we were pretty good friends and Italy was a semi-mecca.
A couple of weeks ago I made my pilgrimage to Italy for a good friend's wedding. Yes I even wore a dress *gasp* and this is the result. This is taken with the beautiful mountains of Molveno as the backdrop. The wedding was in a vineyard. There was dancing. There was crying. There was laughing. There was kissing. But most importantly, there was love! And the whole thing was so beautiful...!
And then my friend (and housemate) Mandy and I went to Venice. It was fantastic. We were charmed and flattered outrageously by the cheeky Italian waiters and gondoliers. Venice is a city like no other. One word? Magical.
A semi-voyage of self-discovery? Kind of... I realised that I wasn't ambivalent about wanting kids. I DO want them. Nor am I anti-marriage. Ok so I wasn't so great at it the first time around... :) But I haven't given up on it at all. I still believe in the love and the magic and the hard work and the tears and the laughter and the joy and the pain and the everything that makes it so special.
So I am now going to live my life prettily waiting for it to unfold shyly one petal at a time and hope that maybe I'll get the chance to try to make all those mistakes one more time ;)
