I have been in this country (UK) for about 8 years now. And in that whole time I have not had as relaxing and chilled out a holiday as I did for the 3 and a half days that I was down in Newquay.
And here's another thing. I DEFY ANYONE to say that British people are cold and unfriendly because I have met some of the friendliest, sweetest and most interesting to talk to people ever and they're British and surfers/kiters/land-buggy'ers' and all 100% fabulous. We only had one day of sufficient wind (what with all the sunshine and blue skies...!) for me to even attempt anything remotely kite-like and this was a problem since my two mates had paying customers as well. But next time for sure!
The beaches are amazing: Fistral, Crantock, Watergate... and these are only the ones whose names I remember! I totally loved it. And the coolest thing about it all is that it felt like I was in a completely different country! The scenary is completely different to anything I have seen and the beaches really have to be seen to be believed and this is high praise indeed from a chic who spent her childhood on some of the most beautiful beaches in the world!
And of course, it was absolutely brilliant to spend time with one of my favoritest mates ever. It was great to catch up with Vix and her boyf Dom who is one of the cleverest clogs I have ever had the good fortune to spend arguing and in deep discussion for a very long time.
I feel refreshed and energised and this is something that I am going to need in the coming months with all the crazy changes soon to be happening in my life.
What are they?
All to be revealed. Soon...
