boarding moonflower babe

it's all about boarding baby!

Name:
Location: United Kingdom

I'm not tall but I'm definitely not short. If I was a flower, I'd probably aspire to be an orchid or a graceful calla lily but would probably just be a sunflower. I have tried to be cool and angsty but I keep forgetting and get the fit of the giggle! I've decided to give up the fight and just roll with the giggles and not even go down the road of chic...

Malaysian tales - part 1

So WHERE do I start? With the fact that it was one of the best holidays EVER? That we had the whole family there and it was awesome? That the weather was amazing? Or maybe that the scenary was astounding? I could maybe begin with the flawlessness of the beaches seeing as how I am a total beach whore? ;)I think I will begin with my nana... which is a very good place to start!

I was going to include pictures but nothing's working. You cannot appreciate the nana without looking at her beautiful face. She is so serene I reckon that angels look like her. We had her for the whole two and a bit weeks! It's really weird but all the grandchildren flock to Gammy (that's what we call her) like moths to a flame - and we span the age range from 18 months to 32 years. I could wax lyrical about how my nana rocks but then I really would go on for-absolutely-ever!

The places I went to were Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Singapore. KL was ok. Your typical city really, with the uber-clean buildings and the filthy, seedy side too. It was ok - the food was outstanding! The variety! The color! The textures! oh! my! god! No but seriously, it was THAT good! Let me throw some names at you: Koi koi, Koi theow, stone baked crab (!), mee how...Fabulous names! And I found a perfect tattoo... if I ever get brave enough to get one! A cutesy (of course) little dragon with a smiley face!
Penang was magical. So very beautiful and so very picture perfect. I would show you how picture perfect if picasa played ball. Monkey Island was paradise found. So beautiful was it that I had almost texted my resignation to my boss because I was convinced that I was going to buy a surf shack and spend the rest of my days on the beach teaching people to parasail or jetski or waterski.... but of course, ole common sense reigned supreme. Dammit!

This isn't quite the cliff-hanger I had planned but I did decide to split this into 2 parts so the next one will be about Singapore and the family whom I heart a lot!
